Piña Colada flavour added to Malibu ready-to-drink can range

Pernod Ricard has added a Piña Colada flavour to its Malibu ready-to-drink range, replacing the Strawberry Kiwi flavour.

The company said the flavour is popular among its target audience of 18-24-year-olds, who are “eager for the new flavour.”

James Middleton, channel director for impulse at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “The Piña Colada is Malibu’s signature cocktail and we are delighted to be introducing an on-the-go format that will allow us to tap into home cocktail occasions; as well as expanding into alfresco moments, making it this season’s must-stock for driving summer sales.

“Ready-to-drink formats are growing 7.8% year-on-year in value within the impulse channel and recent research reveals UK consumers are claiming Piña Colada as their second favourite cocktail, making it the perfect time to be introducing a ready-to-drink can of this kind.”

Malibu Piña Colada cans are available now and join the Cola and Pineapple cans, retailing at £1.80.
