Heinz Tomato Ketchup poured with relish in 2007 with sales up 4.6% to break through the £100m barrier at £101.2m, a 4.6% year-on-year increase.

Heinz spiced up the tomato ketchup category with the launch of a new sauces range, Heinz Tomato Ketchup with a Twist. The new range consists of three varieties: With a Twist of Chilli, With a Twist of Garlic and With a Twist of Sweet Onion.

A four-week ad campaign drove sales by 30% across the range.

“Heinz Tomato Ketchup With a Twist was developed to offer adult palates a 'more sophisticated ketchup option',” explains Caroline Clarke, marketing manager, Heinz Tomato Ketchup.

During the year Heinz launched Organic Tomato Ketchup in a top down format whose sales exceeded those of the squeezy format it replaced – up 11% in four months.
