Pet food powers on

Top 100 Grocery Brands

Four pet food brands feature in the Checkout Nielsen Top 100 league with fourth-placed Bakers recording the strongest growth.

The Nestlé-owned dog food brand grew by 15.4% last year to £89.1m.

Pedigree, however, remains the top dog food brand with a sales value of £184.4m, down 0.8% in 2007.

Whiskas is the biggest pet food brand, up 1.3% to £234.9m last year.

Felix is ranked at 23 and grew by 4% to £177.4m last year.
