South Devon Chilli Farm to hit our TV screens


The South West’s leading chilli producer, the South Devon Chilli Farm, is becoming a regular feature on national television.

Having already featured on the ‘Alan Titchmarsh Show’ at the beginning of the week, this innovative company was a focus on Channel 4’s ‘Drop Down Menu’ last Friday (11 November).

‘Drop Down Menu’ is a daily live cookery show which films passionate food producers from around the UK, on location.  It also includes studio footage of the producer being interviewed and their products being used in a dish created by a celebrity chef.

For the show, Steve Waters, co-founder of the South Devon Chilli Farm, spent the afternoon in London filming with michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar.  Atul is the owner and chef of the infamous Indian restaurant in Mayfair, Benares.  On the chilli farm’s involvement in ‘Drop Down Menu’ Steve says: “We were delighted to be chosen by Channel 4 to be involved in such a fantastic programme which promotes British produce.”  He continues: “Equally, it was both exciting and inspirational to watch Atul cook live for the show.  We certainly share a great passion for chillies and the huge variety of uses they have.”  See attached link to view the South Devon Chilli Farm on the Channel 4 website: (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/drop-down-menu/articles/food-producers-week-one).

The South Devon Chilli Farm also featured on the ‘Alan Titchmarsh Show’, an afternoon chat show which features top celebrities and experts who share advice on a variety of subjects including gardening, cookery and food and drink.  On last Monday’s programme Alan welcomed James Strawbridge on the show who spoke about the South Devon Chilli Farm’s colourful chillies delicious chilli products – (www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=286910).
