The popular Pilgrims Choice cheese brand from Adams Foods proved its exceptional quality once again last week by scooping two prestigious gold accolades at the National Cheese Awards, which took place at the annual Royal Bath and West Show.
Leading the winning charge was the celebrated Pilgrims Choice Lighter Mature cheese which took home the gold award for ‘One Reduced Fat Cheese’. Noted for its smooth, rounded flavour and firm texture comparable to any full fat equivalent, this variant was always set to be a winner with the judges.
Delivered as part of the long-standing supply partnership with Carbery in South West Ireland, Pilgrims Choice Lighter Mature features an exclusively developed recipe several years in the making and has been a big hit with consumers since its launch in 2011.
The Pilgrims Choice brand also took home the gold in the ‘One Block Vintage Cheddar Cheese’ class for its popular Vintage Farmhouse (PDO) variant which boasts a distinct and complex formulation, including hints of fermenting hay, that sets it apart from standard Cheddars. Handmade and matured for a minimum of nine months, the Pilgrims Choice Vintage Farmhouse (PDO) recipe is again the result of a successful 25-year partnership with Parkham Farms in Devon.
