Natural Balance Foods, manufacturer of the wholefood brand Nākd, is extending its popular bar range by introducing two innovative new varieties to capitalise on the growing trend for retro flavours and healthy on-the-go snacks.
The two new flavours – Rhubarb & Custard and Caffé Mocha – provide an exciting opportunity for retailers to not only develop their healthy snack offering, but also tap into nostalgic foods, such as Rhubarb & Custard sweets. The Rhubarb & Custard bar will initially launch in Tesco from 1 September, and both bars will be available online at the Natural Balance Foods website.
Nākd bars simply combine raw fruits and nuts, containing no added sugars, syrups or other mysterious additives, making them perfect for those looking for a lighter alternative to sugary snacks. To appeal to health conscious consumers, both bars are wheat, dairy and gluten free and count as one of your five a day, which is ideal for on-the-go snacking.
Jamie Combs, Managing Director at Natural Balance Foods, comments, “Our Nākd bar range has gone from strength to strength which means we’re now in a position to make our offering a bit quirkier by adding more unusual flavours to the line. With retro sweet and coffee culture trends on the rise, we saw an ideal opportunity to create distinctive, but interesting flavours, which we’re confident the consumer will love.”
He continued, “In particular, following the recent successful launch of our Tangy Lime and Crazy Cola infused raisin range, we know that exploring more adventurous flavours that excite our audience is key.”
The new Nākd bars join the current products in the range; Cocoa Delight, Cocoa Orange, Cocoa Mint, Berry Delight, Pecan Pie, Ginger Bread and Cashew Cookie.
