Mars ice cream stock up thanks to hot weather

With consumers taking advantage of the improved temperatures, Mars Ice Cream is urging retailers to stock up on ice cream now to ensure they don’t miss out on this week’s sales opportunities.

Consumers are expected to take advantage of the improved weather this week by hosting BBQs and parties with friends and families. And nothing says summer quite like ice cream, which also makes an ideal dessert or refreshing treat.

Tony Lorman, Mars Ice Cream, general manager, Baked and Ice Cream, said: “With warmer weather upon us, consumers are looking for their own slice of summer and refreshing iced treats. But retailers will miss out on the impulsive nature of such purchases if they haven’t yet replaced the frozen peas that have outstayed their welcome in freezers, with ice cream. It’s also important that ice cream products are showcased as a refreshing treat by ensuring freezers are clean and well maintained.”

Mars Ice Cream has four out of the top 20 best-selling Ice Cream Singles including MARS, SNICKERS, MALTESERS, BOUNTY as well as the new and improved TWIX. And Mars Ice Cream’s Take Home 4 packs have been redesigned for 2012 with convenience and value in mind, price-marked at £1.50. In fact, one in three consumers is more likely to purchase price marked packs.
