The 10mg tar cigarette will be available, as before, in king size (KS) 10s, KS 20s, 100s and multipacks and the recommended retail price (RRP) for the new Marlboro Red will be the same as the current product.
“Red is the classic full flavour Marlboro cigarette. Introducing the new and contemporary packaging brings the iconic red and white design, which features an embossed pattern, bang up to date,” said Zoe Smith, marketing manager UK & Ireland.
The new-style king size 10s and 20 packs will be introduced in two stages; first with a printed cellophane wrap emblazoned with “Redesigned. Same taste”, and then moving to the new-look pack after two weeks.
Following on from the White Menthol and Gold Original pack upgrades earlier in 2010, the Marlboro Red pack redesign completes the rebranding of the signature Marlboro product portfolio. The Marlboro Red re-brand will be supported by trade communications activity.
