Scotland’s largest commercial producer of traditionally smoked Scottish Salmon, John Ross Jr, has added a brand new Honey and Mustard flavour to its successful Hot Roasted Salmon range of products and given the entire collection a retail-friendly redesign.
The new 160g packs provide a sliced version of the more conventional ‘darrans’ of hot smoked salmon previously produced by the Aberdeen smokehouse.
John Ross Jr first developed the original Hot Roasted product 10 years ago and has since supplied the retail sectors with whole sides. The product’s increasing popularity over recent years combined with a growing demand for retail packs is behind the company’s decision to revamp the packaging and launch a new flavour.
Individually hung by hand in John Ross Jr’s traditional 19th century red brick kilns and cold smoked for 24 hours before being slowly kiln roasted, both styles of Hot Roasted Salmon retain a delicately smoked flavour whilst providing the texture of freshly cooked salmon.
The launch of the retail pack and the addition of the Honey and Mustard flavour is a natural progression for the company, which has established an international audience for its classically cold smoked salmon products over the last 25 years.
