James Hall & Co relaunches pies with local supplier

James Hall & Co has revamped their Spar brand Savoury Pies and Slices range and moved to a local supplier, to improve the quality and value of an already hugely successful range.

The new range will be packed in pre-printed film which clearly shows the British flag, to tie in with the local provenance theme introduced by the distributor earlier this year. The pies and slices will be produced locally by Clayton Park Bakery in Lancashire.

The appetising range includes Lancashire Pasty, Chicken & Mushroom Pie, Beef & Onion Pie, Chicken Balti Slice, Sausage Roll and Beef & Onion Slice, and most products will be pricemarked at £1 to offer great value to shoppers.

SPAR stores in the Northern Guild sold a hearty three million savoury pies and slices in 2011.

Lee Jacob, James Hall & Co fresh foods trading manager, said: “Over recent months, a huge amount of work has taken place on our pies category, particularly on the quality of our own brand offering.

“We are excited to be able to offer both retailers and their customers this refreshed pies range, which focuses on the fantastic quality of a local supplier combined with great value prices.”

Spar retailers in the Northern Guild will be supported with a POS pack to highlight the new and improved range, including shelf edge stripping and shelf cards.
