Flora, the iconic spread brand from Unilever UK, is launching a new TV advertising campaign to support the reformulated Flora Original and Flora Light during the second half of the year, as part of the £10m marketing investment for 2012.
The advert, which airs for the first time on 20 August, sees Vernon Kay and his mum, Gladys, in the kitchen making sandwiches with the new Flora when Vernon announces: “It’s better, because it’s tastier”. Immediately his mother interrupts him by saying: “It’s better, because it’s healthier.” They continue to debate over the product’s taste and health credentials, highlighting how both qualities have been enhanced by the reformulation.
In January, Unilever invested a huge €35m into a new production facility to further enhance both the taste and health credentials of Flora Original and Flora Light. The new cool-blending process preserves the natural goodness of the seeds used in the recipe so the consumer enjoys a tastier spread, packed with the goodness of Canola, Linseed and Sunflower.
The TV commercial is supported by an iAd also featuring Vernon and Gladys and is part of the £10m spend for the Flora brand during 2012.
