The first-ever Get Wine Wise wine experiential and promotional programme will launch on Thursday 22 September 2011.
Running from 22 September to the end of October 2011, the first Get Wine Wise campaign will aim to both educate consumers about ‘les plaisirs du vin’ whilst also encouraging them to buy on the basis of provenance, varietal, quality and value, rather than making price-led wine purchase decisions.
Focussing on the UK’s favourite wine countries and styles, Get Wine Wise is sponsored by some of the biggest and most innovative wine brands in the UK, including Freixenet; Sparkling Wines, McGuigan; Australian, Blossom Hill; Californian, Viña Albali; Spain, Errazuriz; Chile, and Villa Maria; New Zealand, amongst others.
The Get Wine Wise campaign is a combination of experiential sampling via the Get Wine Wise Wagon, touring London and the South East at Tesco Extra stores with Wine Wizards on hand to offer the consumer expert advice on purchasing and enjoying wine from countries around the world, complete with wine tasting and food matching tips.
Wine has become the nation’s favourite tipple and Get Wine Wise aims to help the consumer gain a greater understanding of the history, types, styles and tastes that are available in local supermarkets and beyond. By focussing on the most popular or available wines and having the basic knowledge to order and enjoy will increase ‘Les plaisirs du vin’ no end!
