Amoy is set to breathe new life into the oriental cooking sauces category with a new, high-quality range of cooking sauces created to liven up the mid-week meals of discerning consumers.

"Our new oriental cooking sauce range provides a simple solution to those who do not have time to cook from scratch during the week, but who still demand exciting, high quality products to make their meals," says Rachael Munby.

"Our research has shown that the oriental cooking sauces category has started to decline as consumers grow tired of products that do not deliver on quality and taste."

Cooking Sauces hold the largest value share of the total Chinese Market at 23 per cent, worth over £41 million.

The new Amoy range comprises six oriental cooking sauces, each made with fresh, authentic ingredients from the Orient to ensure a high-quality base for quick and easy mid-week meals:

· Creamy Coconut and Thai Basil

· Sweet Soy and Oriental Vegetables

· Szechuan Tomato and Sweet Peppers

· Hoi Sin and Shitake Mushrooms

· Thai Creamy Coconut, Tomato and Red Pepper

· Yellow Bean, Soy and Cashew Nuts

"Amoy is constantly assessing and responding to changing trends so that our portfolio of market leading brands continues to excite and delight consumers." says Rachael Munby. "In the year that Amoy marks its 100th birthday, the launch of the new Amoy Oriental cooking sauces is the next step in our quest to put Amoy products in every wok in the country while helping to put growth back into the oriental cooking sauces category.

"The new range forms part of Amoy's overall strategy to connect with modern consumers and make traditional Asian foods relevant and accessible to all."

The Amoy cooking sauce range (rrp £1.69) will be in store from early June.

Also, this June Amoy is marking its 100-year anniversary with a high-profile title sponsorship of Taste of China, a celebration of oriental cuisine hosted at the annual Taste of London food festival, in Regent's Park.
