Duracell's on-pack Summer of Music promotion

Wednesday, 30 May 2007
The biggest brand in batteries is joining forces with one of the biggest brands in music to offer consumers an amazing on-pack promotion as part of Duracell’s ‘Summer of Music’.

Duracell has joined forces with music giant iTunes to provide consumers with a free iTunes download with every purchase of special packs of AA4, AAA4, C2 and D2 packs of Duracell Ultra M3 and Duracell Plus batteries.

In store from June, the promotional packs are available until the end of the summer giving music lovers a fantastic opportunity to download their favourite track for free when they buy a pack of Duracell batteries. The promotion will hold huge appeal for consumers, who get not just the great reliability and battery performance they have grown to expect from Duracell, but a promotional offer that is both appealing and easy to redeem.

Duracell is once again working with retailers to help drive sales in the lucrative battery market while consumers enjoy great battery performance combined with added value winning offers

Duracell's summer promotion, including iTunes on pack and participation in some of the UK's most popular festivals, is being supported by online advertising and radio sponsorship to drive sales of the promotional packs, as well as highlighting in-store activity.

Paul Lettice, trade communications manager for P&G UK, commented: “With summer festivals fast approaching and an increasing number of battery powered support devices being used such as speakers, portable stereos and premium performance headphones, now is a great time to really tap into this growing market.

"With 82% of legal downloads sold through iTunes, a partnership with Duracell is a great way to increase sales of Duracell batteries and boost the brand profile.”
