Alpro soya is expanding its comprehensive range of yogurt alternatives with the launch of a vanilla 500g pot. The vanilla variant will tap into the buoyant ‘active health' yogurt category, which is growing at +27%* (by value).
The vanilla yogurt alternative is low in saturated fat and free from artificial sweeteners, colours, and preservatives. Like the rest of the Alpro soya yogurt range, it can be used on its own, as an accompaniment to fruit or muesli and in cooking.
John Allaway, Alpro soya's commercial director commented: "The new yogurt is a great addition to our existing range. It will provide our consumers with an indulgent tasting breakfast or after dinner treat. We wanted to increase the choice of flavours available to our consumers and vanilla is a desirable flavour."
Alpro soya dominates the £103m dairy free category with a 64%* share and is the only brand to have a range of products in each of the dairy free category's main fixtures, including fresh and UHT milks, cream, yogurts and desserts.
The new 500g vanilla yogurt will launch in Sainsbury's, and Waitrose from April with a RRP of £1.29. The product launch will be supported by sampling and promotional activity, PR and direct marketing
