The Mars Pouch Collector promotion is back - and it promises to be the most successful to date.
The promotion, which saw a five per cent uplift sales in sales last year, will be returning to stores on February 1st 2009.
The promotion offers consumers the chance to redeem eight tear-off strips from the tops of the Mars pouches range for a pair of cinema tickets.
The 2009 activity will run across more products and more cinemas, providing even more value for consumers.
The pouch range is being expanded in 2009 with the addition of a Mars Planets pouch, meaning consumers can now redeem their strips across an eight-strong pouch portfolio: Maltesers, White Chocolate Maltesers, Galaxy Minstrels, Revels, M&M's Peanut, M&M's Crispy, M&M's Chocolate and Mars Planets.
As well as continuing its successful partnerships with Cineworld and Movie House, Mars has also signed Showcase and Empire cinemas to the promotion, giving consumers a choice of 137 cinemas nationwide.
Commenting on the promotion, Bep Sandhu, Mars Trade Relations Manager, said: "The Pouch Collector promotion has built a loyal following for our pouch range and by extending to more cinemas and across our entire pouch portfolio, we anticipate it will drive sales further than ever before."
Mars is number one in Bitesize with a 56.8% share of the market and expects the promotion to continue to drive fantastic sales in the category.
Mars pouches and bitesize bags will be supported by a £7.8m promotional spend including TV and press advertising throughout 2009, up-weighted during the 12 week Mars Pouch Collector promotional period.
Retailers are advised to order stock of promotional Mars pouches in good time to benefit from one of the most successful and profitable promotions within the confectionery market.
Dedicated POS for this promotion will also be made available to support in-store activity.
