New kids sweets from Hancocks

Tuesday, 09 December 2008
Encouraging retailers to maximise sales from children's confectionery by ringing the changes, Hancocks introduces another selection of fun products for the younger generation.

New novelty line, Brain Rotters retails at 50p and earns a massive margin of 43.4%.

A 6 pack of Candy Powder Bottles has just been launched, retailing at just 59p, yet earning 42.1% margin.

From What Next are three fun new gummy products: Fatty Ratty, Coral Snake and a Watch. Just 20p each, the margin to be earned is 53%.

Furthermore, from 9 to 19 December these What Next products are on a "Buy 3 pay for 2" deal, which ensures even greater profitability.

"The kid's market remains extremely profitable and any retailer with this age group significantly in their locality should create a strong display.

"However, children expect to find new and different things to entertain them and so it is important to take advantage of new lines in order to inject continual excitement into this category and maintain loyalty from the young shoppers" says Jonathan Summerley, Hancocks' senior buyer.
