Golden Virginia launches price marked packs |

The 1st December marks a new era for one of the most established UK roll your own (RYO) brands as Golden Virginia launches limited edition and price marked packs. In the current economic climate the RYO sector continues its reversal in fortunes with retail sales up by 8% in value terms, and 12% in volume terms, over the past year. Over four million adult smokers are ‘dualling' between cigarettes and RYO tobacco due to the economy and control this segment provides. Alistair Brown, marketing manager at Imperial Tobacco comments: "Golden Virginia is the most popular RYO brand in the UK and we are always looking at new ways in which we can develop the brand to reflect the changing preferences of UK adult smokers. "From the 1st December price marked packs on the 12.5g and 25g variants of Golden Virginia will be available for independent retailers. "Also available from this date will be a series of the limited edition 14g packs featuring eight different ‘leaf' designs while stocks last." This week the company said revenue has been boosted thanks to more people buying value brands. Golden Virginia price marked packs: RRPs 12.5g £2.94 and 25g £5.77.
