Evoia battery gets Best Buy accolade from Which?

Thursday, 13 November 2008

Evoia, the most recent addition to the Panasonic battery portfolio and already the Guinness World Record holder as the World's No.1 long lasting AA alkaline battery, has been awarded Best Buy status by the highly respected consumer magazine Which?.

This provides further endorsement that this premium alkaline battery delivers high performance across all appliance types and, as such, is deserving of a unique place in the battery category.

Which? tested 27 types of disposable batteries, both AA and AAA, and the resulting Evoia performance puts it as the clear winner in the AA alkaline battery test, thus reinforcing its position as the longest lasting AA alkaline battery on the market.

The Evoia AA was scored at 88% and "will last more than seven hours in a high-drain situation and 2.4 hours in a very high-drain device". The Evoia AAA also delivered excellent results, being the joint longest lasting AAA alkaline in the test.

It was scored at 91% and judged to give "more than 8.5 hours' performance in a high-drain situation and 2.5 hours in a very high-drain device".

The Which? report comes in a key battery sales period, with September to December accounting for a larger volume of sales than in the whole of the first six months of the year. Tim Clark, Panasonic Batteries Marketing Manager commented, "We are delighted that Which? recognises Panasonic Evoia as the longest lasting alkaline and has awarded it "Best Buy" status.

"This, on top of the Guinness World Record's recognition, will serve as a further reassurance to retailers and shoppers alike that by choosing Panasonic Evoia, they will be offering their customers class leading performance, from a trusted brand, at a competitive price.

"With the pre-Christmas buying period now upon us we are confident that these two prominent endorsements will mean that Panasonic Evoia is the battery that your customers will be asking for by name."
