Birds Eye, the UK's leading frozen food brand, is launching another exciting tea-time solution that the whole family will love. Birds Eye Meatballs will be available from January 2009, and have been developed with a typical ‘Italian style' recipe with beef and pork, lightly seasoned with tomato and oregano.
There are now more than 100m Meatball occasions, which is a growth of 30% in the last two years . Recently they have received increased media interest by featuring prominently in ‘Jamie's Ministry of Food' and the Sainsbury's ‘Feed your family for a fiver' campaign.
However, despite this growth and popularity, the meatballs offering in frozen is still very limited.
Steve Challouma, General Marketing Manager at Birds Eye, comments: "We believe Birds Eye Meatballs will be an exciting addition to Frozen that will drive incremental sales and profits for retailers. With a cooking time of just 18 minutes from frozen, Birds Eye's Meatballs provide the perfect tea-time solution for Mum.
"They're very versatile; they're great in a pasta or on a Sub and consumers can be reassured they contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives."
Birds Eye Meatballs are available in packs of 10 (200g) at an RRP of £1.69, and are ideally merchandised in the frozen Red Meat section, alongside Birds Eye Burgers.
