As part of a drive to continue their success in the impulse snacking category, Kettle Chips is launching its new Mature Cheddar & Red Onion variant in a 40g bag, in addition to the classic 150g sharing version.

The new all-natural seasoning combines distinctive cheddar with sweet red onion to deliver an exceptional take on the classic combination - meeting consumer demand for a great tasting, natural, everyday favourite.

Kettle Chips is one of the fastest growing bagged snack brands, with sales up 26.4% and the brand showing growth of £14m year-on-year - this looks set to continue through the improvement of the core range.

Kettle Chips Marketing Director, Andrew Slamin says: "The classic combination of cheese and onion is currently undergoing a revival and is growing at 11% year-on-year, cementing its position as a national favourite. Chris Barnard, the Kettle Chips Chef, has spent a long time testing different combinations of real cheese and onion.

"The end result - Mature Cheddar & Red Onion - seems to have struck a chord as it came out way ahead of all the options tested in our consumer research.

"The new Mature Cheddar & Red Onion is the perfect accompaniment to a sandwich at lunch or as an early evening snack. Launching a natural, Kettle Chips take on this classic in both 40g and 150g bag sizes generates a fantastic opportunity for retailers. Sales of the single serve bags are showing growth of 23.6% over the last year with the Kettle Chips 40g worth £9.6m at RSV."

As with all Kettle Chips, Mature Cheddar & Red Onion are made from the finest potatoes and hand-cooked in small batches, using sunflower oil.
