£3.5m relaunch for Lucozade Sport Hydro Active

Monday, 27 October 2008
Lucozade Sport, the UK's no 1 Sports Drink, is relaunching Lucozade Sport Hydro Active to drive brand awareness and understanding.

The relaunch is part of a move that sees Lucozade Sport Hydro Active join the Lucozade Sport range of drinks, which are proven to give consumers an edge.

Lucozade Sport Hydro Active will also benefit from a striking new pack design, which highlights its position as a low calorie option (just 50 calories per 500ml) and reveals research proving that Lucozade Sport Hydro Active is more effective than water in keeping consumers hydrated.

Supported by £3.5m investment in 2009, the exciting re-launch is designed to enhance awareness and understanding of the drink's benefits among sports and exercise participants.

Lucozade Sport Hydro Active is scientifically formulated to help replace the fluid and electrolytes lost in sweat during exercise and it comes in two refreshing flavours, citrus fruits and summer fruits, to help consumers drink more just when they need it.

Adam Prentice, Lucozade Sport Group Brand Manager said: "The move into the proven Lucozade Sport range will help widen the relevance of Lucozade Sport Hydro Active to sporting participants and the eye catching new look is set to further drive consumer awareness and demand.

Our major investment in re-launching Lucozade Sport Hydro Active reinforces our commitment to driving further growth in the sports and exercise drinks category.

"Retailers should stock the entire Lucozade Sport range - Lucozade Sport, Lucozade Sport Hydro Active and Lucozade Sport with Caffeine Boost - to ensure consumers find the drink that meets their sporting requirements."
