Cadbury in ten rolls extra free deal

Monday, 27 October 2008

Creating more moments of pleasure, Cadbury, the UK's number one confectionery manufacturer, is offering retailers the opportunity to stock up on some of the best selling sugar and mint lines this winter, for a limited time only.

The promotion offers ten rolls extra free within each outer, meaning that retailers get 50 rolls for the price of 40 across key singles lines.

Last week, Cadbury said that it has become an official sponsor of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The products included in the promotion are Trebor Extra Strong Peppermint, Trebor Extra Strong Spearmint, Trebor Softmints Peppermint, Trebor Softmints Spearmint, Maynards Wine Gums and Bassett's Softfruits.

Trebor is the number one brand in the mint category with a 54% market share. Trebor Extra Strong Peppermint single is the best selling mint single SKU in the UK, closely followed by Trebor Softmints Peppermint and Trebor Softmints Spearmint, meaning that the top three selling single mint lines are all from the Trebor brand.

Like Trebor, Maynards is a hugely successful brand in the UK and is worth over £50m in retail sales. This year Cadbury has been supporting the brand with a £2.4m investment into the "Hootsman" marketing campaign, and the presence of Maynards back on TV this year has had a direct influence on sales, resulting in a 21% increase.

2009 marks the 100th anniversary of Maynards Wine Gums, which will be supported by further marketing investment from Cadbury, so this is a great time for retailers to have the consumer favourites on shelves.

Kate Harding, Trade Communications Manager at Cadbury, comments: "Trebor, Maynards and Bassett's are three of the most popular lines within sugar and mint confectionery. At Cadbury, we are committed to supporting our customers and by running this promotion, we are giving retailers the opportunity to make even higher profit margins across these popular lines."
