Monday, 20 October 2008

South Caernarfon Creameries, Wales' leading farmer-owned co-operative, is set to launch a national promotion on their own brand Extra Mature Cheddar.

Starting on 21st October, for a 3 week period, the 200g blocks of Extra Mature Coloured Cheddar will be available nationally through Morrisons supermarkets at a special offer price of £1 per pack.

This cheese has a distinctive flavour having been matured for 18 months.

"This is the first time that the creamery has undertaken a national promotion on one of our own branded cheeses in a pre-packed format," commented Lynne King, Commercial Director at South Caernarfon Creameries.

"This will be a fantastic opportunity to promote our brand and extend the provenance of our range further.

Earlier this year South Caernarfon Creameries celebrated its 70th anniversary and today still remains on its original site in North West Wales.

The Creamery currently processes all of the Welsh milk from their member farmers who are located from North West to Mid Wales. All of their cheese range is suitable for vegetarians.
