Evian partners with Jean Paul Gaultier

Friday, 10 October 2008

Evian, the UK's no 1 bottled water brand from Danone Waters, is partnering with Jean Paul Gaultier this Christmas for the design of their highly sought-after annual limited edition bottle, available to retailers from the start of November.

Following the success of the bottle designed by Christian Lacroix last year and demonstrating the brand's category leadership through such an exceptional partnership, Evian has teamed up with another top fashion designer to create a unique product.

Enhancing the premium aspect of the Evian brand, Gaultier has used Haute Couture aspects of fashion design in the creation of this limited edition bottle; with giant crystals and magnified letters in his signature blue spelling out the brand name which encircles the glass. A limited run of this Gaultier designed bottle will be sold in a metallic gift box, creating an even more exclusive proposition for consumers this Christmas.

Showcased in Paris before being exhibited at locations around the world and playing on M. Gautier's Haute Couture credentials; seven completely unique Gaultier-designed bottles will be auctioned for charity. All proceeds will be donated to Ramsar, an international convention for the protection of wetlands around the world, which Evian has been working with for over 10 years.

Matthew Walker, Evian Marketing Manager at Danone Waters UK, comments: "We have produced iconic limited edition Evian bottles since 2000, as we are keen to emphasise the premium aspect of the brand. This fantastic limited edition partnership is not only a natural fit for the brand; but highlights the combination of fashion, category leadership and high-quality that only Evian can bring to the bottled water market."

The Evian partnership with Jean Paul Gaultier will be supported with national advertising, online activity and PR as part of the massive £6.5m brand spend Evian is investing for 2008.
