Calypso goes High School Musical 3 with fruit drinks

Friday, 10 October 2008
While the nations' tweenies eagerly await the latest and third instalment of the High School Musical phenomenon, Soft Drinks company, Calypso, are poised to provide the refreshments with a new ‘High School Musical 3 - Senior Year' branded Flavoured Natural Mineral Water.

The latest pack to be launched under the strategic partnership between Calypso Soft Drinks and Disney Consumer Products, the new Natural Mineral Water drinks contain blended natural fruit flavours with mineral water from the company's own approved source in North Wales.

The new drink has been launched in four packs of 350ml bottles, featuring two fruit flavour varieties, with no added sugar - Strawberry and Blueberry; and Apple and Cherry, reflecting the increasing consumer popularity for healthy ‘super fruit' flavour.

The product launch coincides with the movie release date in October 2008 and is available through multiple retail channels including Morrisons and Sainsbury's with a RRP of £1.69-£1.79.

Targeted primarily at 8-12 year old girls and boys, the new movie continues to relate to and inspire tweenies with its blend of high-energy music, dance and drama reflecting school-life through friends, relationships and self belief.

Guaranteed to be a massive hit in the UK, Calypso is confident the new packs will prove popular, Richard Cooke, Calypso's Sales and Marketing Director comments: "High School Musical was the most successful Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced and we know the loyal following it has will transfer directly to sales.

"These are such positive role models for kids so its great that they can connect with and aspire to the High School Musical characters.

"The new packs have been specially designed with youth appeal with a unique shape, a sports cap, an upbeat colour palette and clearly identifiable HSM icons. These new packs are the latest in our Disney series and follow on from the hugely successful Pirates of The Caribbean drinks."
