Bounty launches on-pack promotion

Tuesday, 23 September 2008
Bounty is set to launch its first on-pack promotion since being acquired by SCA last October, with the biggest promotional cash prize fund to hit the shelves in 2008. The ‘Clean Up with Bounty’ promotion marks the next phase of the £6 million marketing campaign for the brand this year and continues the celebrity endorsement by TV household cleaning gurus Kim and Aggie.

Playing on the theme of ‘cleaning up’, the promotion will run on over 9 million packs of Bounty household towel across the UK and Ireland, with a prize fund of over £5 million to be won. Consumers will have a one in twenty chance of winning a cash prize, including ten £100,000 jackpots and millions more cash prizes to be won.

Every promotional pack of two, six and eight rolls of Bounty will contain a unique 8-digit code on the inside which generates an electronic scratch card when users log on to the dedicated micro-site www.cleanupwithbounty.com and enter their details. The user is invited to ‘scrub’ off three of six ‘dirty’ squares on the scratch card, all containing cash amounts which are instantly won if the three values match.

The promotion will be supported by in-store activity, trade advertising and a PR campaign fronted by Kim & Aggie targeting women’s monthly and weekly titles as well as national, regional and broadcast press.

In addition, the brand will be running experiential activity in supermarket car parks across the country where consumers will be given the chance to win instant cash prizes.

Joanne Mathers, brand manager at Bounty comments: “Our new on-pack promotion is really exciting because every pack has the potential to win and there are some huge cash prizes up for grabs.

“At the current time of a credit crunch, we hope to engage with our consumers and through our great partnership with Kim and Aggie, show them some easy ways to clean up their homes as well as their finances.”

Whilst I think your product is great, I think your promotion is absolutely rubbish. I have purchased 2 packs of Bounty and not one member of my family can read the 'unique' 8 digit code, the dots are all over the place and after many attempts at entering what we thought it read it still came up as a miss match. I am really disappointed as I thought a company of your standing could come up with something better than this.

do you really want a comment, or do you want me to write a book, I think you web site is a bit over the top, or dont you want people to make true comments, Ive tried every time to get a coupon but it never prints one, printer is working perfectly, except on you page, is that long enough for you, or do I have to play your puzzle over again.

I have bought my packs of Bounty but there does not appear to be a code number inside. is it perhaps on the cardboard centre and I have to use the towels first? Can you clarify??
