Hancocks releases more novelty sweets to 'boost margins'

Friday, 19 September 2008
With the new school year well underway, Hancocks has introduced yet more brand new novelty sweets to allow retailers to add something different to their range. Like so many children’s sweets, these new items offer strong margins to boost the profitability of any confectionery range.

Sherbet Tubbies
Exclusive to Hancocks, a selection of novelty candy pre pack bags launches at an affordable 59p retail price. With six varieties available including popular Candy Necklaces, Fizzy Fruits and Candy Whistles, these bags can earn 40.3% margin.

Sherbet Tubbies are a great new low priced novelty. Retailing at just 5p a tub, the margin potential is a massive 49.7%.

Fizzoo Sherbet bags have been introduced, to retail at 10p and earn the retailer a margin of 47.1%.

Finally, Sour Soda Pop is brand new and retails at 20p, earning a healthy 49.2% margin.

“It is important for all retailers to ring the changes in their range of children's confectionery. Hancocks makes this entirely possible with its constant stream of new lines throughout the year.

"The children's market remains a very profitable area of confectionery and any retailer close to a school or college should be taking full advantage of this in order to build their confectionery business” says Jonathan Summerley, Hancocks senior buyer.
