Unilever connects with VideoJug for online video promotion

Wednesday, 10 September 2008
VideoJug, the world’s most popular ‘How To’ site, has created an online video campaign for Unilever UK, to launch their new cleaning gel ‘Domestos Grotbuster’.

VideoJug created three how-to films featuring Domestos Grotbuster: ‘How to prepare for a visit from your mother in law’; ‘How to host the perfect summer barbeque’ and ‘5 minute makeover’ which delivers valuable and engaging information to the Domestos target audience whilst featuring Grotbuster in a relevant and entertaining way.

The Domestos Grotbuster campaign is running throughout September on VideoJug.com which has over one million unique users in the UK each month and will also be available on VideoJug’s Youtube channel as well as the Grotbuster microsite created by OgilvyAction.

Steve Filler, Head of Commercial Operations at VideoJug, who worked on the brief with OgilvyAction and Mindshare said “It’s really encouraging to see a business of Unilever UK’s size recognising new marketing opportunities, and showing that video can be used to deliver branded messages in an entertaining and relevant way.

“The films we have created not only feature the Grotbuster product, but also deliver genuinely useful information which users are happy to spend their valuable time watching. Early stats show that on average users are watching over 95% of each film, which shows they are being really well received”.

Lucy Jackson, Unilever UK said: “Unilever UK is always looking for new and creative ways to engage with our consumers. We are delighted with the videos that have been produced, and that the content is facilitating a valuable interaction between the Domestos brand and our customers”.
