Cadbury launches new Chocolate Cake Bites

Monday, 01 September 2008
Premier Foods have launched a new range of delicious Cadbury Chocolate Cake Bites designed to capitalise on new opportunities in the growing cake market.

Cadbury Cake Bites
Packaged in a practical, resealable tub for convenience and freshness, Cadbury Cake Bites are perfect for sharing occasions, whether at home or work.

The range, which is produced under license for Cadbury UK Ltd, is available in three popular flavours, including Choc Chip, Caramel and Triple Choc Crisp.

Each Cake Bite has a different texture and plenty of filling and have received a fantastic consumer response in trials.

New Cadbury Cake Bites will tap into both the Sharing and Special Treat markets. The sharing occasion around food has boosted the popularity of bite-sized cakes, the demand for which has been increased by consumers having an increased number of informal occasions and a desire for greater portion control.

Convenient food is in demand, but sweet treats need to be worth it, and create a 'product experience' that can be enjoyed over and above simply great taste.

“New Cadbury Cake Bites have been designed with sharing in mind,” says Jon Marshall, Cadbury Cakes Marketing Controller.

“They will be enjoyed by families, friends or workmates, meaning plenty of sales opportunities whoever your customers. The Cadbury brand is synonymous with quality and great taste, and is set to be a key growth driver for the ambient cake market.”

Available from September in shelf ready cases of six, Cadbury Cake Bites will have a RRP of £2.49.

Following the launch of the core range, two seasonal variants will also be available – Mint Crisp and Orange Crisp.

Innovation in the cake market will continue later in the year as Premier Foods launch two limited edition Cadbury Mini Rolls in delicious Jaffa and Double Choc flavours.

Mini Rolls are perfect for enjoying as an afternoon snack without ruining your appetite. The new flavours will be launched in September, with a RRP of £1.49 and a case size of 12.
