Charmin launches ‘family of the year’ campaign

The nationwide competition, which begins 23rd July, will support children's charity Barnardo's and for every entry received, Charmin will donate £1 to help fund the charity's work with children and their families across the UK.

The competition will involve a nationwide search for the 'Charmin Family of the Year' who will win an action-packed family holiday to France so they can spend some fun and quality time together.

The campaign is being supported via a series of advertorials in key magazines, as well as an extensive PR campaign across print and online media.

A celebrity judge, who is due to be confirmed imminently, will encourage additional media interest and further competition entries.

Entrants can nominate their own family or another family by sending their entries via e-mail or post or uploading them on to a dedicated microsite at www.familyoftheyear.co.uk.

The competition will run until 15th September when the 'Charmin Family of the Year 2008' will be announced.

The Charmin Family of the Year competition is the first PR and promotional campaign undertaken by the brand since it was acquired under licence last year by SCA as part of the transfer of Procter and Gamble's European Tissue operations.
