A fully interactive on-pack and digital consumer competition has been launched on boxes of Oven Pride to leverage impressive demand in 2008 so far.
Like for like sales of the UK’s leading oven cleaner, produced by parent company HomePride, were up again, some accounts as much as 40% compared to the same period in 2007.
Now an on-pack competition with a £5,000 prize is in all major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons. It encourages consumers to recommend Oven Pride to friends through the website iloveovenpride.com. The more people they recommend in the free to enter draw, the more chances they have of winning the prize. Managing Director Matt Stockdale invented the product and launched it in 2002, revolutionising the UK oven cleaning market. He said: “Recent research showed nearly half of those who had purchased Oven Pride had or would recommend it to others. And that’s what gave us the idea for the competition. “What better way to encourage word of mouth than put a nice big prize up. We are very grateful to our consumers for helping us build Oven Pride into a market leader and this is one of the ways we are saying thank you.” HomePride has built up an impressive portfolio of 10 active products based around the Pride and Bugs Away brands. Recent extensions launched include Oven Pride for Microwaves, Oven Pride for Hobs, Oven Pride Stainless Steel Wipes, Sink Pride, and Shower & Bath Pride.
