Foster’s supports Ripcurl Boardmasters

Thursday, 17 July 2008
Foster’s returns to the beach this summer as a major force behind the UK’s largest surfing competition, the Ripcurl Boardmasters.

The Cornish festival, which takes place on Newquay's Fistral Beach from August 4– 10 is the UK's largest free lifestyle sports event and attracts more than 200,000 visitors over 7 days of surfing, skating, live music and partying.

Throughout the week, Foster's will be on hand to ensure that festival goers have a sizzling time by hosting beach barbies – offering revellers the chance to experience the famous Australian combination of mouth-watering barbecue food washed down with refreshing Foster's Super Chilled and Foster's Twist – in one of Britain's finest beach settings.

As the official beer of the event, Foster's has exclusive pouring rights at the festival with the Foster's Beach Bar and surrounding areas literally turning the town blue for the event through quality, high impact POS.

The new Foster's 'Stealing Shadows' advertising will be brought to life in pubs and clubs throughout Newquay during the Festival via a game card mechanic that offers Foster's drinkers the chance to find a shadow to win surf related prizes.

There will also be 'Shadow Throwing' event nights in selected outlets.

In key outlets within the off-trade, the promotion will specifically centre around Foster's Scuba, S&N UK's latest in-can widget innovation.

Natalie Clearie, Brand Manager – Foster's at S&N UK said: “We are delighted to continue our association with the Rip Curl Boardmasters. The event fits perfectly with the Foster's 'No Worries' ethos and builds on the brand's strong association with the inherently laidback surf lifestyle by providing Foster's drinkers and their mates with a really positive experience in a fantastic beach setting.”
