The Weetabix Food Company is launching a new spaced themed variant of the wholegrain chocolate cereal Weetos. New Weetos Meteors combines the familiar hoop shape with stars and meteors. Weetos are already a firm favourite with children and parents and the new variety is set to be a popular brand extension. It offers retailers an additional product for the children's breakfast cereal category and gives consumers increased choice. The new variant will also boost brand presence on shelf, providing retailers with an eye catching display. Meteors is a non-HFSS food so it is one of the few breakfast cereals that can be advertised directly to children. The new product will also appeal to mums looking for a healthy breakfast for their kids as it is fortified with essential vitamins and iron, and free from artificial colours and preservatives. Weetos has shown a significant uplift in sales recently, following the launch of an appealing new TV ad, and from September 2008 Meteors will feature as part of this £1m TV campaign. Weetos advertising is also due to run in cinemas nationwide this summer during Kung Fu Panda and other family orientated blockbusters. Weetos Meteors RRP £1.99 per 375g box.
