Cains enlists Beatles artist Sir Peter Blake for lager launch |

Liverpool brewery Cains has commissioned artist Sir Peter Blake – designer of The Beatles’ iconic 1967 Sgt Pepper album sleeve – to launch a limited edition of its Cains Finest Lager. ![]() The ‘Best of British’ label features the Union Jack and it kicks off Cains’ role as the official beer sponsor during Liverpool’s year as the European Capital of Culture in 2008.
Cains is producing the limited edition lager across the whole year and the bottled version will be on sale in on- and off-trade outlets in the north-west of England and through the www.cains.co.uk website. Sir Peter said: “Cains Brewery and its beers are woven into the history and culture of Liverpool. Many of the city's heritage pubs were built by Cains and form part of the company's enduring legacy. "I'm excited about the dynamism that Cains has under its owners and delighted to be involved in their celebrations during 2008," he said.
