The originator of the power cleaner sector, Reckitt Benckiser's Cillit Bang, has undergone an evolutionary change, with new formulations and the ability to cope with even more household challenges.

New Cillit Bang Multi Power maintains the Cillit Bang reputation for effective, powerful cleaning adding to the proposition the invitation to ‘try it in more rooms, on more stains, and on more surfaces’.

Feedback showed that some consumers felt that while Cillit Bang was seen as a very effective power cleaner, they were not sure it could be used throughout the home.

New generation Multi Power Cillit Bang has been reformulated to retain the original Cillit Bang power, but with a new versatility that allows use on a broader range of surfaces, and a new fresh fragrance that makes it suitable for anywhere in the home.

The advertising that breaks this weekend is part of a £7 million support programme, and will run initially until August and then return for a further run in October.

True to its heritage, the new advertising continues to show the products in use with the consumer tackling tough cleaning problems around the home. The familiar ‘Bang and the dirt is gone!’ phrase remains as a punctuation mark for a cleaning job well done.

“Innovation and meeting consumer needs is what Reckitt Benckiser is all about. We have managed to take the best power cleaning product on the market – and improve it” said a Reckitt Benckiser spokesperson.

“Cillit Bang has always been effective, and the new products mirror that performance, giving great results – but in developing the new generation products we have listened to consumers and provided that same effective cleaning alongside a new versatility that we know consumers welcome, as they don’t always want to use a different product for every cleaning task. We have been very pleased with the reception the new range has received and feel that this reformulation will keep Cillit Bang ahead of the of the power cleaner sector.”

Already in store, both Multi Power variants - Cillit Bang Multi Power Grime and Lime and Cillit Bang Multi Power Degreaser are selling well above expectation even before the major support campaign starts. The formulations are widely available and come in 750ml triggers packs.

The total Cillit Bang range provides solutions for just about all household cleaning tasks. New Cillit Bang Grease & Floor, hit the airwaves at the beginning of April and is already making waves in the liquid all purpose cleaning market.

Together with the ultimate Cillit Bang Stain and Toilet, also reformulated and repackaged, 2008 will be a fantastic year for the original power cleaner, Cillit Bang.

I watched the new Cillit Bang advert today 27th May and was surprised to notice that the caption said that it would clean "stainless steal". Is this a subliminal message or an indication of the super cleaning ability and a message as to the value of purchasing the product!!
