Ocean Spray is launching a new on-the-go single serve PET bottle, taking cranberry health protection into the impulse arena.

The single serve is launching in the three best-selling variants in the multiserve ambient range: Cranberry Classic, Cranberry Classic Light and Cranberry & Raspberry, and in addition to the 250ml singles, a multipack of 4 will be available.

TV and Press campaigns, which communicate how the juice drink’s unique antioxidants help protect you inside, have taken awareness of the Ocean Spray cranberry health message to new heights this year; with latest feedback returning 91% prompted brand awareness.

Each 250ml bottle contains 125% of the RDA of Vitamin C, as well as an optimum serving of 80mg of Proanthocyanidins (PACs), the natural compounds found in cranberry that help protect against bad bacteria taking a hold in the body.

A number of prototypes for the bespoke, sleeve wrapped bottle were put into independent research, with the chosen design scoring highly with consumers in conveying both health and vitality - and being handbag friendly.

The product also has real standout in the chiller, prominently featuring the new Ocean Spray brand look of a healthy figure in the cranberry wave.

“This new launch takes our unique Ocean Spray healthy juice drink offering to a broader and younger audience. Our single serve and multipacks ensure we have a product that targets distinct consumption occasions,” says Jonathan Duffin, Business Development Manager for Ocean Spray UK Drinks.

“In the ambient multiserve sector, ‘Cranberry &’ blends account for 40% of sales; but in single serve this is only 1%. With our new range, which includes Cranberry & Raspberry, we’re introducing an out of home and lunch occasion product with real growth potential, especially among women.”

The range comes in 250ml singles with an rsp of 79p – 99p in cases of 12 bottles and
4 x 250ml Multipacks with a £2.49 price point (packed 6 to a case).
