Three Cokes set for summer sales promotions
This May, Coca-Cola Enterprises Limited (CCE) is launching two exciting on-pack promotions across its three core brands Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero and Diet Coke, to celebrate the run up to summer.
As part of a £4.2 million multi-media marketing campaign, £1.5 million worth of prizes will be available to consumers across eight weeks. As part of the on-going Coke Zone promotion, both Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero will be offering consumers the chance to win thousands of special Euro 2008 prizes, including tickets and luxury trips to the Final Euro of 2008, JCV home entertainment systems worth up to £2500, European short-break holidays and limited edition Coca-Cola football tables. Consumers will also be able to take part in the Euro promotion by text or via the internet at www.cokezone.co.uk. They will then receive a text with a match, a minute within the match and the prize available to be won. If a goal is scored within the allocated minute, the consumer is a winner. Consumers who enter three times will then automatically be entered into four special draws to win an exclusive pair of Final tickets to the Euro 2008 final in Vienna. Diet Coke, a brand currently worth over £399.5 million, will be targeting the core female consumers with the chance to win 2500 cinema tickets every day in May and June. As well as the on-pack promotion, Diet Coke adverts will be screened in 235 cinemas across the UK, to be seen by an estimated 50.2 million people during this time. To redeem the cinema prizes, consumers simply enter the unique pack code via the internet at www.cokezone.co.uk or text message, to be entered into a daily draw though May and June. Winners will be notified and directed to the Coke Zone website where they can print off their free cinema ticket voucher. Kenny Chisholm, Trade Communications Manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises, comments: Our plans for all three brands will create mass appeal as they are specifically targeted at our core audiences, with genuinely exciting prizes on offer. Despite the home nation's absence, we are confident Euro 2008 will draw huge interest with UK consumers, with many domestic league players taking part. We know that during Euro 2004, the average audience from the quarter final of the competitions without England was higher than most important local events and 72% of our core audience will watch Euro 2008, despite the absence of home nation teams. We have also planned our Diet Coke cinema promotions around several major female biased films being released this summer, as well as two major family blockbusters. We are sure both promotions will be popular and relevant with our consumers and drive incremental sales in store. The summer promotions will run across special multi-packs, 500ml and 2 litre bottles of Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero, and 500ml and 2 litre bottles of Diet Coke.
