Chewits Truly will take the brand firmly into the family arena by appealing to adults as well as kids.

Chewits is one of the UK's kids' favourite chews and the company is aiming to capitalise on the brand's popularity with families by introducing three Chewits Truly variants, designed to appeal to adult sweet-lovers who are ingredient-savvy and concerned about the integrity of what they and their children consume.

The three newcomers are:

> Chewits Truly Juicy: described on the packaging as 'Fruity Friends', these are juicy soft gums made with real fruit juice, contain no artificial colours and benefit from 30% less sugar. 160g bags contain 8 mini-packs which is ideal for family sharing and portion control. 12 bags with an RSP of £1.39 come in shelf ready packaging.

> Chewits Truly Smoothy – Crazy Animals are great for kids as they have a high novelty factor and a play value that makes them ideal for sharing. These are fruit gums made with real fruit juice with no artificial colouring and have 30% less sugar. Eight 200g bags with an RSP of £1.69 come in shelf ready packaging.

> Chewits Truly Smoothy – Berry Whites are milk and strawberry smoothies, made with 65% milk and real fruit juice. Berry Whites also have no artificial colouring and 30% less sugar. Standard cases contain twenty-four 80g bags with an RSP of 89p

All three variants have a bold green flash on-pack proclaiming 'real fruit juice', '30% less sugar' and 'coloured by nature'.

Truly brand manager Karen Green commented, “Chewits is a trusted brand which has a high recognition factor with consumers - most of whom consumed Chewits when they were kids.

“Putting the Truly concept under the Chewits brand makes eminent sense. Recently the Chewits emphasis has been on the healthier ingredients used in the manufacture of the brand as Leaf positions itself as the 'healthier confectionery company', so combining the two, it makes perfect sense to launch our fun and fruity new products under the Chewits brand.”
