Peter Manley: the new face of Mr Porky

Red Mill Snack Foods, which manufactures a mammoth 20 million bags of Mr Porky pork scratchings every year, is the new headline sponsor for Peter Manley, nicknamed ‘one dart’ thanks to his knack of hitting doubles with his first throw.

Peter competes in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Championship and is ranked number five in the world.

He will be sporting a bright pink branded darts shirt at PDC events all across the globe in honour of his new Porky business partner, something which has already been a major talking point amongst fellow competitors on the tour.

Red Mill’s marketing and sales controller Sarah Nunn said: “We are tremendously excited about this new partnership to promote the Mr Porky range. Professional darts remains a popular sport and since many of the major tournaments are televised via Sky Sports and ITV we can be sure of some worthwhile brand exposure.

“We also want to see Peter enjoy a successful season and will be cheering him along every step of the way.”

Mr Porky is the UK’s best selling brand of pork scratchings with a massive 81 per cent market share.

The range includes traditional and Prime Cut scratchings, pork crackles and crunch and two flavours of Crispy Bacon Bites. All packaging bears the catchy strapline ‘Great Taste, No Porkies’.

Peter Manley has been competing in the PDC World Championship since 1999. He won the Las Vegas Desert Classic in 2003 and was three times runner up the World Championship final.

Peter was born in Cheam in Surrey and now lives in Carlisle with his wife Crissy, also a professional darts player, and two daughters.
