Bon Bon Buddies wins exclusive Pez contract
Following a four-way pitch, Bon Bon Buddies has won an exclusive contract to become the sole distributor of PEZ Candy and Dispensers in the UK. The two-year deal, which begins on February 9, 2008, will involve the promotion, sales and distribution of licensed PEZ products to all leading retailers. The agreement is also designed to complement Bon Bon Buddies existing range of seasonal and year-round products with both companies already in licensing agreements with leading characters such as Disney, Bratz and Spongebob Squarepants. PEZ is the brand name of the popular Austrian candy which is packaged in a pocket-sized dispenser. To date the company has designed over 300 different varieties, many of which are collected by a worldwide fan-base. Bon Bon Buddies' managing director, Chris Howarth, said: "The contract win is a major coup which confirms our leading position in the European marketplace. "PEZ, like ourselves, are ubiquitous in licensed circles and we both constantly launch new products that tie-in with the latest characters, films and programmes." Bon Bon Buddies, based in Crumlin, Gwent, is Europe's leading supplier of licensed confectionery and novelty biscuits, including seasonal and year-round product lines. The company recently announced record results for the financial year ending April 2007, with sales rising from £17.9 million to £26.1 million. The company supplies leading retailers across Europe including Tesco, Asda, Wilkinson, Auchan and Carrefour.
