The Golden Compass is an exciting fantasy adventure set in a parallel world where people’s souls manifest themselves as small animals, talking bears fight wars, and children are mysteriously disappearing. Movie-goers will follow the story of 12 year old Lyra, who sets out to find and rescue her best friend Roger, but ends up on an extraordinary quest to save not only her own world, but ours as well.
The film is based on the first book, ‘Northern Lights,’ of Philip Pullman’s best-selling, award winning trilogy, ‘His Dark Materials’. The adapted screenplay is by Chris Weitz who also directs the film. With an acclaimed cast which includes Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Eva Green and newcomer Dakota Blue Richards in the lead role of Lyra, The Golden Compass is expected to become the blockbuster movie for this year’s festive season.
