First Lambrini TV ad for three years

Monday, 10 September 2007
Halewood International is set to invest more than £5m, in the run up to Christmas, with a national TV campaign and digital programe to support its market-leading Lambrini brand.

LambriniAd
The move that will see Lambrini appearing on TV for the first time in three years is part of a three year plan to drive sales growth among existing consumers and to recruit new users to the category.

The TV commercial will re-launch the brand which has recently enjoyed a refresh; with modern packaging and a new innovative Peach flavoured style.

The commercial is set to Al Wilson's Northern Soul classic “The Snake” and aims to create a new dance craze among young women in living rooms, gyms, clubs and bars across the country.

The routine, christened 'do the Lambrini' is a mixture of line dancing, folk dancing and everyday popular dance - consumers can learn the Lambrini dance moves via a TV URL and by logging onto the new website: www.dothelambrini.co.uk.

By launching the brand's first ever 30-second TV ad, Halewood International hopes to drive distribution of its Cherry and Peach styles as well as increase rate of sale of Lambrini Original.

Lambrini is equivalent in size to being the fourth biggest selling wine in the UK, selling over one million bottles per week. Cherry continues to grow, sales are up 18% in the last year, doubling its distribution in the last six months and sales of Diet Lambrini are up 15%.*

Richard Clark, Marketing Controller at Halewood International comments: “The new packaging and styles combined with the new TV campaign has given Lambrini a more contemporary look and taste – we wanted to communicate this to the brand's existing strong and loyal customer base and also introduce new consumers to the brand.

“TV and digital combined will allow us to communicate the changes to a massive consumer audience, it will reach over 4.5m women aged 18-45, so we believe it to be the most impactful medium to help us re-launch Lambrini.

“The aim of the commercial, is to support retailers by providing them with incremental revenue and margin growth opportunities in the run up to Christmas, our feedback to date has confirmed this view.

The 30 second advert will run from 17th September 2007 for three weeks promoting Cherry and Original Lambrini, with repeat schedules then running in December 2007 and April 2008 advertising Cherry, Original and new Peach.

The strategy incorporates Channel 4 and targeted satellite channels. Outdoor media and PR will support the TV campaign.

The web site www.dothelambrini.com will support the TV campaign by providing an interactive site where consumers can learn the dance moves, upload their own footage and even gain the chance to star in the next ad!

it's an appealing ad but it is definitely a rip-off of jumpstyle and you alienate young consumers at your own risk

THIS IS NOT LAMBRINI...
THIS IS NOT LAMBRINI ITS a STYLE called Jumpstyle it was ripped by this stupid company and they don't deserve to be in business. Why would you rip the style and put it to complete different music. NICE ONE, great job you just joined a highly used dance style community in Europe. NOT THE LAMBRINI ITS JUMPSTYLE

docters tell us to have a limited amount of wine so thet is not good for your sale because your telling peaple not to drink to much lambrini.

My daughter used to ...
My daughter used to phone me at 2.00am with this record blasting down the phone at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall, because she loves it so much!!! Bytheway the advert is so refreshing in today's society, I bet it proves fruitful for you (Pardon the pun), it certainly gets the feet tapping, fingers clicking, head nodding and memory bank working! However there is one thing wrong - it needs Northern Soul dancers showing how to do it right. This song is number 4 in Kev Roberts Top 500 Northern Soul records of all time!!! Check it out and see if you can get the man himself 'Al Wilson' on the advert for Christmas, now that would be a real 'Catch'.

If this and thier website is aimed at 25 to 30 year old women, I think everyone in thier demographic has fake ID's.

Don't rip on popular internet videos advertising people!

Saw this ad tonight ...
Saw this ad tonight for the first time (20.9.07) coincidentally I was drinking a gla*s of "Lambrini Original" Its a fun, fresh advert, full of vibrance and life and great music - had me smiling all the way through and I went on to the website to look at the dance moves. One of the many clever ways to advertise without it being in your face. A memorable advert will always promote a product. Who cares if the dance is not "original" what dance is these days, most have roots in something else. Its lively and fun!
