Aimed at young males, Heinz Bean Meals will provide a great-tasting, hearty and convenient meal, leaving hunger and taste buds satisfied.

Heinz Bean Meals is a premium bean meal, available in three varieties: Beanz with Balls, Big Saucy Bangers and Red Hot Balls.

The new cheeky packaging features tabloid style stories with tongue in cheek humour to add greater shelf standout for the new range.

"Our research has shown that young active males with a huge appetite are not getting their fill from a regular can of baked beans: they want more," says Lucy Cawkwell, Heinz Beanz brand marketer.

"With Heinz Bean Meals we have satisfied this appetite, offering bean lovers a premium bean meal with substance. The new range will be an instant hit as it is great tasting and easy to prepare."

Young males are increasing their baked bean consumption at 4% year on year and as many as 1.1 million males eat baked beans every day. What is more, 60% of beans are consumed with a host food.

"The launch of Heinz Bean Meals is further evidence of Heinz's commitment to reinvigorate the Beans, Kids and Meals category, aligning it with modern consumer eating habits and shopping trends," continues Lucy Cawkwell. "By introducing premium offerings we will encourage shoppers to spend more per trip and in doing so grow the category for our trade partners."

Heinz Bean Meals will add to the excitement being injected into the beans category by Heinz, which so far this year has launched Heinz Snap Pots and Heinz Limited Edition Baked Beanz with HP Sauce.

Heinz has a 65.3% share of the total beans market, which is worth £233.8 million. The second biggest player, behind Heinz, is standard private label, which has an 18.3% share.

These have to be tried they are fantastic. Mostly I find these products to be cheap and low in meat content, this time Heinz has to be congratulated. The meatballs seem to be all meat and no rubbish. Very tasty and well priced, keep up the good work.
