The impressive sales growth achieved by Barr's flavoured carbonates range in 2009 is set to continue this year with the launch of 2 new flavours, Orangeade and Raspberryade from the 1st February. NPD will continue to drive the brand in 2010 following on from the incredibly successful launch of Cherryade last year which delivered over £2 million worth of retail sales. The Barr range had a fantastic year in 2009, growing in every region of Great Britain, with sales up by 46% in total and growth being experienced across all distribution channels. This growth is being driven by consumers recognising that the Barr brand offers classic, great tasting flavours that represent real value for money. The brand remains strong in Scotland, with growth continuing at a rate of 35%. However, it has been in England and Wales where the growth has been even more significant, with a sales increase of 46% during the past year. Adrian Troy Barr's Head of Marketing said: ‘The Barr flavoured carbonates range has become a must stock item across all trade channels because it delivers for shoppers on value for money, great taste and a range of fantastic flavours. The launch of Orangeade and Raspberryade will further increase the choice already available.' High profile marketing support of Barr brand will continue in 2010 with a summer sampling campaign from May to August and the continued sponsorship in Scotland of STV's ‘The Hour' show, as seen by over 50% of the Scottish population. ‘The Hour' goes out five days a week, 50 weeks a year to a family viewing audience which provides a great opportunity to showcase the Barr Range of flavours in its home market.
