Administrator Deloitte has received offers for individual Woolworths stores and the business as a whole, it said today.
The company said it is talking to “financial players” and also to people in the retail trade about the sale of Woolworths, which fell into administration earlier this week.
Iceland has ruled itself out of buying the retailer, but Asda, Tesco and Waitrose have said they are interested in purchasing individual stores.
Neville Kahn, the Deloitte partner in charge of the sale, said that there has also been a significant amount of interest in EUK, the CD, DVD and games distributer.
He commented: “With both the retail and EUK we’ve been flooded with inquiries.”
Supermarket supplies may be threatened by the collapse of EUK, which has contracts with Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons.
