Whole Foods Market drops disposable plastic bags

US-based grocery multiple Whole Foods Market will stop using disposable plastic shopping bags at all of its outlets by 22 April 2008 (Earth Day).

The retailer hopes its ‘Bring Your Own Bag’ campaign will motivate shoppers to reuse bags, but says it will also have 100% recycled bags for use when needed.

Whole Foods Market has more than 265 outlets in North America and the UK.
