Website ‘to help retailers boost sales’

Companies may be able to boost sales thanks to a new website, its creators have said.

This week, Whatsmybrand.com was unveiled and has the “potential to list every food and drink product on sale in the UK”.

Users can search for different food attributes – such as fat content and organic qualities – all at once.

Retailers can also list the products they sell on the website as an attempt to boost sales.

Site creator Ian Duncan said: “More and more consumers in the UK want to know what’s inside the food and drink products they buy, where they’ve come from and how they are packaged.

“Research shows nearly two thirds of consumers still want more information about the food they buy.”

The site is set to launch in January.

In a recent survey carried out by MyVoucher Codes, grocery sales on the internet have outstripped those for electronic gadgets for the first time.
