Walkers warns consumers to be vigilant


Walkers has said that the possibility pieces of rubber will be found in crisp packets is “small”, but still urged consumers to be cautious.


A spokesman from company owner PepsiCo suggested that the small black rubber pieces may be in multi-packs that have a best before date of 20 September 2008, following the withdrawal of some items this week.

Consumers who have family and friends or may possibly have purchased such items ought to get in contact with them so they are alert, the representative stated.

Packets possibly affected in the development include 21 packs for the price of 14, 21-pack multipacks and 28-pack multipacks.

Withdrawal notices have already been placed in the national UK press, while retailers have been informed not to take any action at present.
