Organisers of the centenary IGD conference, being held in the autumn, are claiming it has a list of speakers with a higher-than-ever profile.
The speakers include Marc Bolland (chief executive, Morrisons), Gwyn Burr (Sainsbury’s customer director), Andy Clarke (chief operating officer, Asda), Peter Kendall (National Farmer’s Union president), Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy, Peter Marks (the Co-operative movement’s chief executive), Paul Polman (chief executive, Unilever), Todd Stitzer (chief executive, Cadbury), Troy Warfield (managing director, Kimberly-Clark) and Booker chief executive and IGD vice-president Charles Wilson.
Joanne Denney-Finch, chief executive, IGD said: “The challenges facing leaders in food and grocery today are daunting, but not insurmountable.
“The theme of this year’s IGD Convention is Leadership in Adversity, and we’ve assembled our strongest ever line-up of speakers to discuss the challenges we are all facing, and how best to navigate through them,” said Denney-Finch.
